Kamari wins for a real beach day, Red Beach wins only for a careful photo stop or boat view.

Pick Kamari if you want an actual beach day with swimming, sunbeds, food, and easy access. Pick Red Beach only if you want the volcanic cliff photo and you accept that the access path and cliff area have real rockfall risk.

Kamari is the practical choice: a long black-sand-and-pebble beach with organized sunbeds, restaurants, bars, a promenade, and flat access. It is not the wildest place in Santorini, but it works.

Red Beach is more dramatic and much less useful as a beach day. The red cliffs are spectacular, but the path and cliff base have been repeatedly flagged for landslide and rockfall danger, with closures and warning signs. Treat it as a viewpoint or boat-view stop unless local conditions clearly say otherwise.
