If you want one Gaudi house and a vivid, immersive visit, pick Casa Batllo. If you want the stronger architectural read and the famous chimney rooftop, pick Casa Mila.

This is the real Barcelona Gaudi-house decision. They sit a few blocks apart on Passeig de Gracia, both are ticketed, and both can feel expensive if you are not especially into architecture.

Casa Batllo is the flashier crowd-pleaser: colour, curves, dragon-scale roof and a more high-tech visitor route. Casa Mila, La Pedrera, is rougher, stranger and more intellectually satisfying, especially once you reach the rooftop and attic.
